Climate and Area
The climate: South Brittany enjoys more sunshine and higher temperatures than average, compare to the rest of the region. For example, the average number of hours of sunshine per year is 1827h in Lorient in South Brittany whereas Saint Brieuc in North Brittany receives only 1564h. As a reference, Paris gets 1661h of sunshine per year - Source Météo France.
The region of the Gulf of Morbihan offers several remarkable places of interest and almost infinite possibilities for sightseeing and opportunities to relax such as
- The islands: Belle-île, Houat , Hoedic with regular nearby shuttles: the pier is 15 km away and an island visit can be done in a day
- The Quiberon peninsula and its unspoilt "côte sauvage" at 35 km
- The Trinité sur mer harbour at 25 km
- The Locmariaquer head and its beaches at 25 km
- The archeological site of Carnac at 25 km
- The Rhuys peninsula and its beaches at 40 km
- The Ria d’Etel and the immense beach of Erdeven at 30 km
- The Suscinio castle at 40 km
- The Branfiré animal park and "Acrobranche" - high ropes – activities at 50 km
